Connecting Business Strategy to Product Strategy

Thankyou Payroll, a mid size Payroll SaaS, faced stagnant growth due to an outdated strategy. Stepping in as the Head of Product, I recognised the need for collaboration with executive leadership to achieve a holistic transformation.

Reporting my findings of customer insights and industry benchmarks, we analysed key market trends, identified competitor advantages to prioritise and pinpoint our unique selling proposition.

Next, I turned to focus inward. Through workshops and open forums, I facilitated an organisation-wide workshop. Fostering a culture of transparency, open communication, and cross-departmental collaboration that allowed for blue-sky thinking.

These activities resulted in a unified vision of Thankyou Payroll’s future. In emphasising customer-centricity and innovation, we laid the groundwork for organisation-wide revitalisation.

Non-profit & Social Enterprise Governance at Yes for Success

As Board Treasurer for Yes for Success, a social enterprise focused on providing career support, I played a key role in strengthening financial governance and maximising our mission impact. The organisation lacked clarity in strategic outcomes due to the lack of financial reporting depth. I overhauled the board reporting to add key profitability, liquidity and efficiency metrics.

Furthermore, I leveraged a business model and mission canvas, to identify opportunities to optimise financial resources for mission fulfilment. With cost and revenue management, we ensured we maximised the positive impact of every dollar spent on our beneficiaries.

These actions along with financial literacy training at board meetings, led to increased transparency, reduced risk of financial mismanagement and a better board decision-making.

Learn from the Experts

During my EMBA program, I had a unique opportunity to learn from a distinguished lecturer – a former Reserve Bank Governor of New Zealand. His insights on navigating the post-COVID economic landscape were invaluable.

Recognizing the critical need for my future clients to understand these emerging trends, I leveraged my communication skills to secure a one-on-one interview with him. This exclusive conversation – published under Davanti Insights – provided my future clients with a clear picture of the economic landscape, positioning them to make strategic decisions in a rapidly evolving environment.

This experience exemplifies not only my passion for work that creates positive impact, but also my proactive approach and ability to identify valuable resources to benefit my clients.
